With Dagenham heading the top of the Conference for a
large portion of this season and Boro struggling you
would guess at a win for the visitors but recently
things have looked a bit dodgy for the Londoners. 2
straight defeats at Barnet and Leigh have given the
Boro fans a bit of a boost.
Boro come into the game on the back of a morale
boosting comeback at Forest Green Rovers where Jason
Harris scored both goals but the future looks
increasingly doubtful for the Midlanders. With a lack
of funds and players reaching the end of their
contracts it appears that the squad size will be even
smaller for next season. Leading scorer Lee Charles is
set to join ex boss Terry Brown at Aldershot whilst
Marc McGregor is destined to join QPR on a free.
The money situation also menas that current signings
have to be all lower league players such as the recent
acquisition John Turner signed from Coalville Town in
the Leicester League and was thrust straight into the
first team for the trip to Forest Green. Up front
Jason Harris was signed from Harrogate and has been a
bonus , netting 4 goals so far.
Player of the year has probably been left sided
defender Michael Love, signed from Stevenage at the
start of last season who has really been a consistent
performer, whether it be as a centre half in a back 3,
or a conventional left back. Also, the formidable
presence of Terry Angus is one to be reckoned with
while the excellent Chris Mackenzie has yet again been
marvellous in goal.
Saturdays game should be a cracker with a decent crowd
, Dagenham should bring quite a few fans up so a good
atmosphere should be heard on the day. If asking for a
score prediction I think Boro might sneak it but
realistically I reckon a one all draw
